This summer with support from Dimension Energy, Greener JC partnered with the founder of Jersey City Birds, Lorraine Freeney , NJCU, and the DEP to support 2 college students from NJCU and 6 Jersey City public high school student.
Students gained new skills in wildlife documentation, bird identification, and scientific research. All right here in Jersey City’s backyard!
The students conducted their own independent research projects focusing on the habitat preference of resident and migratory shore birds at Liberty State Park’s Caven Point Natural Area and Lincoln Park West.
The students then presented their final research posters to a local groups and community members.
