Supporting a more sustainable future in Jersey City

Supporting a more sustainable future in Jersey CitySupporting a more sustainable future in Jersey City

Caven Point Research, 2022

Greener JC partnered with Professor Allison Fitzgerald of NJCU and Lorraine Freeney of JC Birds to support paid internship opportunities to two NJCU students. Students documented the shorebirds at Caven Point, and preliminarily investigated the link between sediment micro plastics and shorebird food webs.

Students Robert Belibrov and Elam Mesa presented their research at the Restore Americas Estuaries (RAE) national summit in New Orleans!
